Courses and Services : Programs and Levels
admin Posted em 04/08/2010 12:24:27 ( 7 leituras )

Our Brazilian Portuguese program is divided in 5 levels, with reference to the "Common European Framework of Reference (CEFRL): Learning, Teaching, Assessment" (see below). The course is organized in 16 modules of 15 hours each. The complete Basic and Intermediate levels take about 90 hours each and the Advanced level, 60 hours more. In total, our Portuguese program is 240 hours long.

For Spanish speakers we keep the same structure of the course, but we have developed specific material, more complex and challenging for written, reading and oral tasks.

For tourists longing to acquire introductory language skills for traveling, we offer a specific module. It consists of real life situations a tourist usually faces, such as ordering food in a restaurant, asking for information and directions, introducing themselves, buying tickets or souvenirs and using transportation and other services.

Polyglot Trotter also offers preparatory courses for the CELPE-bras, the only official and recognized diploma of Brazilian Portuguese as a foreign language. Upon request we also offer business courses or group courses for specific purposes.

COMMON EUROPEAN FRAMEWORK OF REFERENCE (CEFR): LEARNING, TEACHING, ASSESSMENT

Developed through a process of scientific research and wide consultation, this document provides a practical tool for setting clear standards to be attained at successive stages of learning and for evaluating outcomes in an internationally comparable manner. It is the result of extensive research and ongoing work on communicative objectives. The Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) provides a basis for the mutual recognition of language qualifications, thus facilitating educational and occupational mobility. It is increasingly used in the reform of national curricula and by international consortia for the comparison of language certificates.
